Partial Elbow Replacement

A surgical procedure performed to replace worn joint surfaces in the elbow when the arthritis is mainly on one side. An incision is made on the elbow and worn surfaces of the humerus bone and radius are removed. Metal components with a plastic spacer are cemented into place on the humerus and radius. When the components are in place the elbow is examined to ensure appropriate range of motion, alignment, and stability.
